In-Cell Touch Screen vs. Traditional Out-Cell Touch Screen

In-cell technology represents a structural revolution in displays, eliminating two layers: a bonding layer and a touch layer. Because of these two fewer layers, two advantages become apparent: firstly, the structure is much thinner, 1-2mm thinner than traditional structures; secondly, the display effect is better, as the loss of optical transmittance is less due to the reduced number of layers.

1.Client: What's the cost between in-cell and traditional Out-Cell Touch Screen?

Answer: The cost of in-cell touch screen would be a little lower, since the structure of in-cell reduced by two levels. But the display effect is better and thinner.


2.Client: What’s the operation temperature?

Answer: In-cell touch screen operates over a temperature range of -30°C to 80°C.


3.Client: In-cell would be suitable with my device? Or would it leak light after being installed in my machine?

1. Regarding compatibility: We will provide a fully compatible solution for testing based on your required dimensions, backplane pressure, connector location, FPC length, etc. Ideally, you should send us your structural drawings. Rest assured, we will provide a screen module that is physically compatible with your solution.

2. Regarding light leakage: Let's discuss light leakage. Light leakage is usually not caused by the screen itself 'emitting light,' but rather by light from the backlight layer leaking through the gap between the screen and the casing. In-cell screens, due to their thinner structure and higher integration, have more stringent requirements for assembly processes.


The main causes of light leakage are:

* Screen quality: Inferior screens may have uneven or poor light-blocking adhesive on the frame.

Assembly issues (most critical):

* Deformation or unevenness of the mid-frame (iron frame/stand).

* Insufficiently fitting the screen into the mid-frame slot during installation, or uneven force during insertion.

* Poor quality, insufficient adhesion, or incorrect placement of the double-sided adhesive on the back of the screen (used for fixing and sealing).

Dust and small debris can accumulate between the screen and the frame, creating gaps.


To ensure optimal performance, we need to do two things:

1.Choose the correct model: Ensure the screen is 100% compatible with your machine.

2. Installed correctly; we can provide installation guidance if needed.


Therefore, if you confirm the model, choose the dedicated screen we provide, and follow the correct installation instructions, the risk of noticeable light leakage is very low. This is because all our production is carried out according to an ISO-certified system, and each screen undergoes three 100% tests.
